Taking a walk through downtown Glenwood Springs is more than just a relaxing exercise. The journey can become a walk through time. Although the names of some establishments have changed, many of the original buildings that date back to the 1880's still remain.

The Frontier Historical Society offers a brochure entitled "A Historic Walking Tour of Downtown Glenwood Springs" which includes historic photos and a walking tour map. The brochure is available for a minimal donation at the museum at 10th Street and Colorado Avenue and at the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association at 11 Street and Grand Avenue.

Each fall, visitors and locals can enjoy the Ghost walk to Pioneer Cemetery, where you can hear ghosts, such as famous resident Doc Holliday, give accounts of their lives during the early days of Glenwood Springs.
